LS6 intake and ported throttle body, or FAST 90/NW 90 if you have some jack to throw at it. The FAST 78 is not worth it, as it's barely better than an LS6.

No experience with the Typhoon, but there has been some discussion about it lately (it's brand new). Do a search and you'll find some info.

lol you better watch yourself... i heard mods can cause bugs to enter your engine when you least expect it

I personally would go with LS6 and a ported stock TB, that's the best bang for the buck. If you got the money, go FAST 90/90 for some extra gains and it can be reused in the future if you go bigger cubes.

Could somebody explain why the Ls2 with the 90mm TB isn't any good? Does it flow that bad?
Your input would be apreciated.

The LS2 manifold has shown weaker results than an LS6 in numerous independent dyno tests. It is simply not as good a design from a power producing standpoint as the LS6 it was meant to replace. I swapped one on an engine dyno with one of my ported FAST 90 intakes and saw over 30 HP with the same TB....thats ridiculous gains for an intake swap. If the engine was already fitted with an LS6/78 the gains would have probably been in the mid twenties.

Do a search....plenty of information on the Internet documenting the LS2 intake's lackluster performance. Perhaps they are better from an emissions standpoint but GM dropped the ball if that design was meant to produce more ponies.

I guess I've been barking up the wrong tree. I figured since it had a bigger intake, 90mm over 78mm, it was better.
On the other hand, I think the Victor Jr. intake looks really cool and I've heard good things about it. I just don't want to shell out the money for the FAST intake.

By the way thanks for the answer to my question.

The size opening at the front has far less impact in it's ability to flow air than the plenum and runner shapes and configuration....that's where the FAST shines BTW and is the reason it does make more power. IMO, its still the best choice for an LSx intake upgrade....when something better comes along you can be sure I will be running and touting that intake.
