K&N???

I swapped it for a Holley because the K&N uses the crappy extra gasket and I even had to add some more gasket {thin weather stripping} in order to seal the airbox. The Holley also has a smidge more filter area{most likely not enough to matter but it is bigger}.
The only "real" reason I can see for using a oiled gauze filter is if you have debaffled and sealed the hood to the airbox. The filter will get wet and I think that the oiled filters hold up and work better than paper in these conditions.
IMO if you have the free air mod and live some where it rains a lot you would want one of these as well. <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
