So do I but I do like a little rasp. The machine gun sound it makes at partial to wot just kills me. I think I might try the bullet in the I pipe first, which shouldn't be to expensive, and then if that doesn't help, sell the borla and get a different exhaust.

He tried a glass pack in the I Pipe.. did nothing i keep telling him to start over but he wont and he hates the sound too

I have (had) exactly the same problem. When I had just a bullet after the ORY it made that aweful machine gun (blat blat blat) noise at partial throttle, and it was horrible. then I installed 3" catback piping into the stock muffler and that machine gun noise is gone, but its extremely quiet. I am sitting in the same position as the original poster. What is louder than stock, yet doesn't keep that aweful partial throttle noise. without going TD.
ooh that sounds good, anyone know where I can sell a liver or at least trade one for a GMMG?

I am curious about how well the bullet works in the I-Pipe. I'm currently running Edelbrock LT's, ORY, and a TSP Rumbler. Have the machine gun sound at 2500. I decided to go with something a bit one-off. I ordered a Spintech catback with their new XL series single in dual out muffler. I may keep the bullet from the tsp rumbler in case the Spintech doesn't solve my problem, but they say it will but it might be more quiet than I like. If it DOES solve the problem.. anyone want to buy a TSP Rumbler Catback? less than 100 miles!

I had the same trouble with the Borla. After LT's and ORY, it sounded like **** at high R's. Ok got rid of the Borla, got a deal on Magnaflow catback...still raspy but not as bad. Finally got the B&B tri-flow cat back, and it is MUCH better. No rasp. I love the huge quad tips, too.
So naturally I like B & B. But Hooker sounds good with lt's too.
Not all catbacks sound like crap with Lt's and ORY.
Borla will sound alright if you use the full block-off plate though. But then you only get exhaust out of one side, plus it's more restrictive of course then.
Or use a bullet in the I pipe.
As far as the banging y-pipe, get some poly motor mounts in addition to the tranny mount. Or use BFH method.

what i would do is get a small sheet of 16 or whatever guage sheetmetal and make some plates for that borla. if you wanna make holes in the plates use a unibit and go to town.
I have PS LT's ORY and Borla wide open and wouldn't have it any other way. I don't get any rasp. I love the WOT sound. I get the part throttle machine gun sound but usually it's not even noticable. I have the block off plate in my attic somewhere PM me if you want to get it. I'll never need it!
You get the raspy noise in the Borla from the LT's and the ORY pipe. I hated it also. I put my cats back on and it toned out the rasp it had. Now I have a cam and it sounds really good.
