bad vacuum leak!!
bad vacuum leak!! i have a 99 camaro ss and it has a egr tube that runs to the top of the intake,and now its leaking and sucking air and i cant get it to seal up... so i was wondering if it would hurt to take it of and block off hte hole and do away with the egr crap, i noticed the 01 and o2 ls1's dont have the egr running to the top of the intake..so if anyone has removed theirs please tell me how you did it and what you used to do it with..

Have you tried loosening/bending the pipe a little and reseating it? You can remove it but will throw a SES light. http://www.ls1camaro.net/sections.ph...ticle&artid=70
Damn near everyone removes theirs. Check out the EGR/AIR sticky at the top. If you unplug the EGR module, you'll get the SES light untill you have the codes tuned out.
You can make/buy block off plates and use a 1-3/8" adjustable freeze plug for the manifold.
If you have the codes tuned out, go ahead and get the AIR and Rear O2's tuned out as well. Do you live by a shop or a person with editing software that will work on your car? Even a shop should do it for cheap.

thanks,ill try that, there are shpw abot 80miles from me,i need a tune bad with the cam i have anyways, so ive heard if i take this egr off it will burn up my motor? is this a factor?
