New 98 Z28 Mod ?'s.
New 98 Z28 Mod ?'s. Just picked up my 98 Z28 with 64k on it after owning a 93 Z for about a year. So far I really like the car, it's black with t-tops, a4, sport package with the ground effects, spoiler, and chrome rims. Cloth seats which I don't mind too much. Also it was a pretty big jump in performance from a bolt on LT1 into a stock LS1 with a fram filter. The first time I punched it from a dead-stop I wasn't too impressed until I hit about 30, then 60 and 90 came much quicker than my LT1. I always heard how LS1's have more top-end compared to the LT1, and less low-end... but I was surprised at the difference, and it's definitley and adjustment I will have to get used to.
I just ordered my Z28 Chrome Overlays for the side and rear emblems, and the Camaro Vinyl and bowtime vinyl for the rear, got a nice package deal from a sponsor. And I'm going to be buying a Lid soon, I think I'm gonna go with the SLP lid because of it's price, and it sounds like a good product, and will run a K&N Filter. Then I will probably have the windows tinted and throw on a muffler and some tips at the local exhaust shop.
I have a few questions about what else I should do to it, I know they make a few different Intakes for the LS1, K&N FIPK, RAM AIR etc. I was wondering if a Lid + Intake would be a noticeable combo or would I not be gaining much from an Intake when I have a lid? I was thinking about the Fast Toys Ram Air kit, but also considering the K&N FIPK since I had one on my last car. Just wanted to see what you guys thought, also I haven't heard much about the B&M Shift Improver kits, they aren't shift kits but rather electronic controls and they are only like $35 bucks, I don't really have the money for a stall or a shift kit so was thinking about picking one up.
I will have some pics up on a new cardomain tomorrow, I'm also gonna be doing a grille and taillight covers, markers etc... plus a system, figure I better spend my money wisely before I'm a broke college kid... screw saving ;-).
