Default What the heck is this????

I was getting a glue residue, off my center console, when I look over under my steeringwheel and notice that my underdash part isnt aligned properly. After a tad more looking I find this?

Looking down at it from drivers seat ----

Other shots----

It is some sort of switch.
I am assuming it is not factory, maybe an alarm gizmo thingy. But when I lock the car, it just beeps like normal.

I dunno

I am assuming that you bought it used. Dealer or Private party? If it was a private party call them and see if they had something installed. If it was a dealer contact them, find out if you can get the previous owners phone number.

It's an ignition cutout. Many dealer now a days install them in new cars for added security reasons.... then try to charge you for them when they sell it to you.

You should be able to pop the center piece out, and the car won't start.

It is a switch, you can feel it click.

I thought it might be a switch like the Diablo sport programmer kit uses.

1 for 2 different tunes.

flip the switch one way, then start the car, let it run for atleast thirty seconds, then see if the car cuts itself off, if it does not, then i'm clueless. But try it from both positions

I drove it with it in both positions, . I thought it was something for my XM radio. But I had it uninstalled later, and they said it was not connected to anything regarding the radio.

So I drove it one way and then the other. Didn't see change in anything.

If you flip it back and forth 3 times in one second the T tops pop off and the ejector seat will activate. Useful for when you can't get those cops off your 6.

Have you tried gently tugging on the wires to see if it is disconnected??? Maybe it was for a sub or something.

I didn't see any other remnants of any stereo install, but just from glancing at it, it looks like it may be spilced into my PCM port.?

I would try to follow the wires and see where they go. If you dont find anything out, it might be a switch to open the blinker fluid resivoir

I think the relay for my flex capacitor idea is holding some water, I am going to set my dash to 1985 and hit 85 mph and see what happens.

Great Gigawatts!
