02 simms are optinal. If you can live with the SES light I suggest that you do so.

Header gaskets - only if the ones you took off need to be replaced. Otherwise use the stockers.

Stockers as well. The locking header bolts can be a pain in the *** if you ever plan on taking them off.

Take your time! Its pretty easy.

Do a search, this same thread gets started about 5 times a day.

I'm going to also suggest a set of poly motor-mounts, which I suggest about 10 times a day.

O2 extentions, gaskets(steel)...you wont need O2 sims if you plan on getting it tuned they can just turn the rears off, probly dont want the SES light on all the time, you wont know when anohter code is thrown that may be important...

I just did my Pacesetters on my '01 SS w/ 55k and I got the Pacesetter race LTs. They came with bolts. 12" o2 extensions worked perfect for mine. o2 sims are optional, I'd prefer to just have the rear o2s tuned out anyway. Reuse the stock gaskets or get new GM ones, the paper ones are ****.

I'd recommend two ratcheting wrenches, a 10mm for the stock manifold bolts, and a 7/16 for the Pacesetter bolts. Remember to PB blast the bolts before hand to make things alot easier. On the passenger side, I pulled the starter and the header slid right in and bolted up fine. On the drivers side, I pulled the plugs and the steering shaft, and the header went up in.

If the heads on those Pacesetter bolts are 7/16, I'd imagine the threads would be standard too?

99% of people reuse their stockers. PS just so someone doesn't get spooked, I didn't have to remove a damn thing to put my Pacesetters in.

I reused my stock bolts and gaskets, both worked fine. I HIGHLY recommend the 10mm ratcheting wrench as stated above, it'll save lots of time and bloody knuckles. Poly-motor mounts are an excellent idea as well.

I don't know, I used the Pacesetter bolts that came with them, they're were 7/16, and they all started by hand and tightened down fine, none have come loose yet.

And I still didn't follow your word

I like a quiet cabin so I was hesitant to install the poly mm's. But I can't keep the damn ypipe from hitting the floor! Every time I stomp the gas, I get the bangy-bang. Now I'm installing the poly mm's during my HC install.

How tight should the header bolts be I'm hearing 18 ft/lbs of torque do I need a torque wrench then also?
