Always throw codes when lean?
Always throw codes when lean? I am wondering about this. If my car runs lean shouldn't the ECM throw a code. I figured it would grab the O2 sensor readings and tell me if I am running lean in one bank or both. The reason I ask is because my plugs only had about 15K on them (NGK-TR55) and when I changed them every single one of them was bright white on the tips. This tells me that the car is running lean to burn these plugs. Also my car is the only one i've ever seen with Header's, ORY, and Catback that didn't smoke when you rev it. I can rev the hell outta my car at idle and it doesn't smoke. This tells me that it is also running lean. Should I be throwing a code for running lean?
Probably not going to throw a code for running lean. My fuel injectors hit 104% duty when I got WOT and my car leans out like crazy, but it never throws a code. Only recently when I got HP Tuners did I find out about this.
