A and B are transmission sensors, C is your Coil pack harness plug, D looks like a positive wire for something, E is your IAT sensor plugs into the lid, F goes somewhere under the headers, and G plugs unto a three prong metal thing on the drivers side right next to the first spark plug in the front of the engine bay.

A reverse light B skip shift solenoid C coil pack I think D does your battery guage work. E IAT sensor goes in air inlet. F AC compressor clutch switch G if it plugs in where near first spark pug on drivers side head its the temp sensor.

This is a takeout from a 2000 t/a that I'm putting into my 70 camaro. So I need to get a plug for the reverse light and just hook up my wiring. Do I need to have a plug for the skip shift?

B is 2-3 lockout solenoid (skip shift). The one closer to the rear is the reverse lockout solenoid.

c is coil pack, looks to be the one right below your hand. <--wrong, see posts below.

D is alternator exciter wire. You can see the weathertight connector that plugs into the top of the alternator in the pic. You'll need to gut out that connector and re-attach that wire or the alternator will not charge. Casperselectronics.com (sponsor) sells wiring kits with those connectors and guts if you want to buy some for this or anyother time you need one.

E is IAT sensor

F is the a/c compressor plug that kicks it on.

G is plugs into the high pressure switch for the a/c, not the cooling temp sensor on the driver side head. That plug is already plugged in, but brings up another point.

Are you POSITIVE it's from a 2000? I notice the temp sensor is a 2-prong, which I thought denoted a 98 model only (working temp guage). EDIT - Noticed the center bolt valve covers, it's definatly a 99+.

Yes but what if it's a wiring harness from a 98? 2 prong was 98 as you denoted.

That's another thing I'm wondering. If the car had aftermarket heads on it, they would've probably had to buy new valve covers. Hmmmm, the plot thickens.

It's definitely a 2000 motor. I went to the guys house and picked it up from his wrecked 2000 t/a. The heads are stock 241 castings. It was an automatic and he put a t-56 in which you can see the plug for the auto in one of the pics. As to the two prong plug, I have no idea.

if you need a sensor for your skip shift just buy a skip shift delete kit or make one yourself there are writeups on how to everywhere of shell out $30 and get the new sensor
