Default Plugs

Probably a dumb question, but have any of you guys changed your own spark plugs? I wanted to change mine, but I looked at the passenger side plugs and how burried they were and thought "NO WAY", theres no way i can get to them. How do you get to those passenger side plugs? Do you guys think I should just let a professional deal with it?

do you have LT's of are you stock??

I know with my Pacesetter LT's I can reach up from underneath & change the (2) back plugs on the passanger side in about 10 minutes. It is harder to get to with the stock manifolds. You will need some swivle extensions.

ive never removed the coil packs to change plugs, every plug has a certain sweet spot with a rachet. it can get very frustrating but theres always a spot, after u do it once its easy

Here's my plug change arsenal. W/ stock manifolds, I'd remove the coil packs and maby the valve covers, but I never had stock manifolds long enough to change the plugs.

I pull both AIR tubes off, the right side coil pack, and go at it. All in all, I think I can do them in about an hour including gapping the plugs. I get all of them from the top. my forearms must be a bit bigger than you guys that say you can get the rear ones from the bottom, because there was no way when I had the manifolds on there.

Just make sure you dab a bit of antiseize on the plugs on their way back in.

I also removed the coil packs and had all them done in about 10 minutes.

I had been doing searches on how everyone changed their plugs and couldn't believe how many different ways i saw. So I figured I would just go at it and see what happened. I just had to take off the AIR tubes and the #6 coil to be able to reach the #8 plug. All I needed to get it was a 6", 3/8" drive ratchet, a 1" extension, and 5/8" plug socket. For the #7 plug I had to use a u-joint. I got all mine from the top. It was a lot easier than I expected.

well thanx for all the tips and help guys, but I'm still not sure i want to even try. I dont really need to change the plugs, its just something I would like to do. I dont think I want to deal with the frustration. The number 8 plug really looks almost impossible.
