Default White Smoke

since i got LT;s with my ORY installed whenever i first start the car when it cold, a lil white smokes comes out is that normal?

It's a very small amount of oil getting past your valve stem seal(s) and when you crank it up the little bit of oil is burnt and shot out through your cat-less Y.

Perhaps your cats were masking an existing condition. I'm willing to bet $100 that if you replaced your valve stem seals you'd get rid of the problem. ~Joshua

i see thanks... yeah it barely any just a lil puff.... how much u think it would cost to replace the seal

If I was doing the work it would be about $150 labor, the seals cost less than a dollar each (16 needed). You have to remove the valve springs to get to the seal. If you have the valvesprings off you might as well put some Comp 918's in which will handle .600 lift... and then you might as well slide in a more aggressive camshaft...see where I'm going with this? ~Joshua

I like that train of thought...

ls1howto seems to have a decent section on the valvetrain, might shed some light on it?
