Default Painted Pacesette Headers

Ok well being a 17 year old is no fun when it comes to money. I just layed down 200 on my custom true dual setup but I have yet to buy long tube headers (I used my friends headers). Ok I was browsing jegs when I saw a set of pacesetter painted headers for $285. I figured this was a good price because everyone else is like 400 or more. My question is will these headers hold up in Va climate. We may get some snow and when we do they put down salt so...
Any comments or suggestions are welcomed
-Thanks Brandon

Depending on how long you plan to keep the car should come into consideration with how much you want to spend. My friend has a set of those headers, and there is nothing wrong with the workmanship/quality of them. The only bad this is that they will start rusting on both the outside and inside and eventually, depends really on the area you live in, will rust through......will not happen overnight or over the summer, but can happen. my $.02

Go with at least coated if your car is going to see salty roads. Check out TSP and BYUNSpeed. Some sponsors even price match.

Igot the non coated ones and they have been on the car for a year and a half with no problems other than rust. I didn't buy my car for shows I bought it for speed. Any way they flow good, and fit pretty good. I don't plan on keeping my car forever either so that played a part in my choice. So did 3 and 8 year old daughters.

coated helps keep the headers from rusting, plus it does help a lot with underhood temps. i could touch my old coated headers pretty much as soon as i popped the hood of the car.

and those XS ebay headers wont work for him as he has an lt1 and they are lt1 specific. unless you absolutely HAVE to have header (car cant physically run without them for some reason) i would just save up a bit more and buy coated ones to begin with.

coated pacesetters do rust, they look pretty in the engine bay, but underneath they look like ***, i've had mine for probably about a year, but keep in mind mine is a DD and i drive it rain, sleet, or snow...

Coated ones DO rust. Mine did after 1/2 of a winter. (not even a full one!)

In VA winters, your only options are to go for full stainless ($$$$$$$), garage the car for the winter, or just accept the inevitable rusting.
