Whats going on with my stat?

Whats going on with my stat? I installed a 160 stat this morning and topped off my radiator, but my temp guage is hovering just over 210. What could be causing this?

i read on here somewhere that the 99 and up fbody's temp gauge is nothing more than a dummy light, it has to get really hot for it to show any other reading.
i have a 99 and my friend has a 98, we both put in 160 stats in and his dropped a lot, mine stayed the same.
there is alot of info in here about it, just do a search and alot of reading,that is what i did
