MSD Wires.
MSD Wires. Anyone ever had a problem? I had a bad coil pack, Which I replaced and at the same time I put in new tr55s pregapped but I checked them anyways, and also replaced the stock wires with msds. Now My problem: Car runs better than it did with the bad coil pack(duh) but it is still missing? I have pushed the wires on as far as they go(2 clicks) but still same problem. So I took everything I just put on back off and put them back on all over again paying closer attention, still the little miss up high. So my next step is to pull the plugs and check them out.

absolutely. and i'm running tr6 plugs. i replaced just the plugs and wires, and i'm getting a slight miss at idle and up top. middle of the powerband isnt bad though, i dont really feel it till about 4500.
i dont see how a little grease would cause this either. i've been stumped for about 2-3 weeks now, and i'm wondering if this is causing any slight damage to the engine. i took her to the track after i did the install, and ran a best of 9.1! my best time before the plug install was 8.8, and that was with a stock intake!

I just replaced my plugs and wires with NGK's and the MSD SC wires a couple weeks ago. I had a difficult time making certain that the wire was inserted properly into the coil packs. I actually spent more time making sure the wires were seated properly in the packs than I did getting the plugs in and out. It just seemed a little difficult to get that wire seated properly in the pack. I almost said F it and went back to the stock wires at one point. The plug end seemed easy....except for #8. Everything seems fine now.
^^ yeah twice. Mine are all clicked twice but still a slight miss up top. Im thinking its the spark plugs, I will be taking those out and checking the gap and making sure I didnt break them.
I'll tell you what the plug end definately clicked twice but it didnt seem as though the coil pack end clicked twice. It is a different type of connection than the plug end. A few times I thought the coil end was seated but wasnt positive so I pulled it off again and looked at the wire. What seemed to happen was the coil wire end itself slid back slightly into the boot cause it wasnt seated properly so I had to pull on the wire a little to get it back out. I confirmed this by comparing it to a wire that I hadnt installed yet. Something to look at.
Like I said, the plugs were a piece of cake (I thought) compared to making sure the MSD wire was seated properly in the pack.

^^^ That may have been my problem I went out for some WOT driving before I was to pull the plugs and the problem seemed to fix itself? I changed nothing and touched nothing all I did was remove the strut bar(tired of working around that thing).
So Maybe the plugs wires just needed time to seat themselves?

i dont think they will seat themselves if they arent on properly to begin with. i also had to pull a wire out inside the boot that goes to the coil pack so that it would reseat properlly. i'll just have to go back and re check all of those wires and see what's going on. thanks guys.
I had NGK plugs a while back, at Idle car popped really bad and I had a slight miss. Replaced with the Bosch plus 4's, ran them with my MSD wires, no problems since. Popping and slight miss gone.

If you still get a miss, take the wires off and ohm them with a multimeter
(this is good to do before installing new wires);
it has been known that 1 or 2 wires might have high ohms or othwerwise be broken.
