I didn't remove it. The pipe is squeezed up in there. It was difficult to get it to where there was no banging because of the size but I finally got it. I think they make a 3 1/2" pipe too which would make for an easier fit.

Iv'e changed my exhaust 6 or 7 times, and keep coming back to the 4" mufflex. I have the single out with flowmaster muffler. It is wicked, and is how my car got it's name. I pull up at peoples houses, and they think it's thundering outside 
Then, when I hit the gas, it gets loud and NASTY! I love it. My new motor is at 11.5:1 compression, and makes it sound even better.
