Question Swappin my LM

Ok, I currently have LM on my car with stock manifolds and Y. If I go with longtubes, ORY and hooker catback, will it be louder? I am assuming so but just have to ask

i think the hooker catback is way quiet compared to the loudmouth. but since you plan on going longtubes, ory i hear the hooker is one of the good choices. it does sound good. maybe better than loudmouth.

May buddy has the LM with the ATP long tubes and ORY and it actually sounds nicer now. It kinda drones to me but it still sounds nice. I think it is quieter.

Hooker has far greater muffling affect as it's not a straight thru design, it also won't flow as well because of it.

Headers + ORY + Hooker will be quieter than stock headers + Cats + LM

Also if you like the sound of the LM you'll probably hate the sound of the Hooker (and vice versa)

what would be a cheap catback to swap out because I plan on doing a cuttout when I want it loud. but I want a catback with lts and Y pipe that is louder than my lm with stockies when the cuttout is closed

Magnaflow sounds really good, without too much rasp.

Sorry don't really understand your requirement.

The LM on stock headers and CATS is bloody loud. Loouder than most other catbacks even when used with an ORY.

Logic dicates that the LM with ORY/LT's will be louder than LM with cats, so there's your answer.

But be warned many don't like the sound of the LM + ORY. Swapping the resonator for a bullet muffler is an option, popular choices include Magnaflow bullet, Borla XR-1, Dynomax.

no I understand that thats why I need to get rid of it. right now I have LM on with stock manifolds and stock catted y. but I plan on doing lt's and 3" ory so that means I will no longer be able to keep the lm. but since I plan on doing an elec. cuttout in the I of my ory, I am not looking to have a settup much louder than my current.

Just Keep the LM, and then after the header install, thats if you dont like the way it sounds. either add cats, or switch catbacks to the hooker.

ive heard of more and more people using the stock system once they get headers and ORY...which i thought noone did. im not sure what the advantage would be other than noise level, just saying ive heard of it being done. if you sell your lm, let me know!

well I wont be able to add cats because i am lowering the car 1.5" and there would be no clearance for a catted Y, at least thats what ive heard

You sound like you are afraid the LM wont fit the ORY more than you are worried about it not sounding too nice..

But I think the LM will fit the ORY. If I am not mistaken.

You don't. I kept mine that way for a month or so and it got to be too much.
I went with a 16" Powerstick and it made it a bit deeper toned but is still pretty raspy. I'm either gonna go TD's or if I stick with a cat-back the Hooker. And also I went with the Pace ORY and had some issues mating it to the LM. The I-pipe needed to be expanded to fit.

Ima just throw a muffler on it and that should calm the rasp down a little.

yea, but what I really want is another cheap catback that wont rasp or drone a lot that I can throw on which will be similar or louder than my LM now with stock manifolds once I throw on lt's and an ory
