yeah, you probably do need a tune, but that's not causing your extreme issues at hand. There's got to be something loose somewhere. Did one of the spark plugs or 02 sensors break?

yea not having a tune wouldnt hurt you that much, you would still feel a power increase from the install

but towing a house? something else is wrong

It doesn't need a tune until you find out what is wrong with it. My 99 liked the Pacesetters immediately.

A tune only added 7hp for me and it ran fine before hand. Look elsewhere first.

Did you put the right 02 sensors in the headers? In other words, you are really using the rear ones instead of installing the extension harnesses to hook up the front 02 sensors..?

I don't know if you have any vibrations, but mine has plenty:

I can rev to about 3k, let the clutch out and stomp it and my '98 ss won't even spin the tires...

runs decent any other time...I think the knock sensors are picking up on the vibrations and sensing it as knock and retarding the timing...

I remember when I first got longtubes + true duals, the first time I went WOT it was slower then before. After putting more miles on it, the PCM learned what was going on and adjusted, runs very good now without a tune.

a tune netted me about 15 additional horses and about 20 lbs ft of tq. But your car should have been running fine. Did you check and recheck all the plug wires.
