Default LS6 Intake

Is there anything special needed to put the ls6 intake, on an LS1? I was just wondering, since I have that and other parts coming in. I keep seeing somthing about coolant plugs? Is this for the TB bybass or something like that?

check out the ws6store ----> sponsor, they have a coolant line and plugs kit you will need for the install since your old lines wont fit under the new intake. also dont brake your oil pressure sending unit like everyone else has its in the back on the drivers side and its cheap plastic...i broke mine there like 40 bucks. you can search for step by step instructions but thats all youll need.

btw, you dont have to have the plugs if you want to be a cheapo like myself. you can grind some ridges off under the intake and the ls1 lines will work.

You do need the plugs like they spoke of before. If you follow the instructions on www.installuniversity.com you will have no problems. I did mine 2 months ago and it was a VERY VERY smooth project. Only took about an hour and a half. The part numbers are wrong unless they updated them but your local deal should be able to cross reference them for you. Mine did.

installuniversity doesn't mention anything about installing LS6 intake manifold.

I know how to do it, I had just been reading about the coolant plugs and what not. Why won't the stock one work, just wondering? Or does grinding it like thunderstruck said work?

the stock ones will work, its just wether or not you want to grind a few ridges off the bottom of your new ls6 intake. some people dont like to do this, thats fine, i didnt see any reason to spend another 40 dollars. im cheap!! ive have had the ls6 intake with the ls1 coolant pipes on my car for over 2 years and havent had any problems. search around, i have seen where several others have used the stock coolant lines.
