Default Are 12" O2 extensions long enough?

I have the pacesetter LT's on a 98 Z-28, just got my O2 extension harness's this morning but after looking at them I got to wondering if I ordered the right length. Will the 12's work or do I actually need the 24's?

I remember in my header thread that blur posted he used a 12" and a 24". After putting two 24s on, I could believe it. I'm pretty sure you'll need at least ONE 24". Good luck man.

You're supposed to be able to do it with one 12" and one 24" but I used two 24's. The extra slack is nice to be able to move it around and secure it wherever you want to keep it off the tubes. I have Kooks, but I can't imagine the distance to the O2's is that different.

Thanks, I think I'm going to send these 12's back and just run down to Advance and swap out my O2 sensor's for the vette rear O2's since everyone says they are long enough. My car has been running like *** for the past month, time to end this 12mpg today. Thanks for the help

Should you replace the REAR or FRONT O2 sensor with the Vette replacements?

I used 2 - 24" ones and tied the slack up.

I used a 24" on the driver side and 12" on the passenger side. If you get the 'vette rear O2 sensors, make sure they are Bosch 13111's. Search that in the posts that I've made and you'll find a link to them for like $62 a piece.

I got the 13111's thank goodness, I told them I needed the rear O2's for a 2000 Vette and that's what I got. I'm putting them in this afternoon after work, hopefully my car won't run rich anymore and will get better gas mileage.

I have a set at home I can't wait to put in. Even though I had the Bosch's sitting on my desk, I went ahead and re-installed the stockers after I put the new headers in. They had a **** load of grinder dust/cutting oil in the primaries/collectors and I didn't want to run the risk of clogging the new O2's.

Hey, according to Speed Inc, they have 2 options for the extensions, flat or square plug. Which one do our cars take?

There needs to be a thread sticky telling everyone that they should never buy short wire 02 sensors again....just buy the longest ones possible for whichever position you need them for and just tie up the extra with zip-ties. This way you can order them and never have to worry if you'll have a wire length that is too short.

End of issue.

And order Densos with the 18.54" wires whenever possible, they are the best 02 sensor ever made. Amazon.com, they're like $42.00 and ship in 1-2 days.
