all i'm saying is it can be done. you can get SLP 2OTL mufflers or dual/dual mufflers. cut and weld an outlet shut so it's 1-in, 1-out and run them. they'll be fairly quiet TD's and flow well and still sound good. of course, fitment will be an issue. i'm just saying there are options out there. i'm sure someone makes a good flowing muffler that isn't too large and fairly quiet. we just don't use them on this site for the sake of a few hp (and most of us love being loud, i know i like being "that guy" )

In a perfect world.. duals, in a realistic world... Hooker Catback. I had TDs and loved them! BUT... I also hated the interior resonance (I dont care who says what, its LOUD in the car. So loud I couldnt hear my radio after I turned it all the way up). I also scrapped EVERYTHING in the road and I was at stock ride height. When I was lowered, I couldnt even get out of the driveway. I got a soda can stuck under the exhaust once driving down the road.... makes one nasty racket. Did it sounds killer, yes. Was it worth the headache, no. I sold my duals and put on a Hooker CB

yea, i have true duals with dynomax bullets dumped. it is extremely loud in the car, and pretty much sounds like a nascar at full throttle. i am not exactly happy about how low the setup is. so i have decided to go back to an offroad y pipe into a catback system. if your car is your daily driver, i am going to say not to get dumped TD's. but dont get me wrong, true duals sound awesome.

What about if you get the TDs with the hooker aero mufflers dumped. I wander how that would sound.

Yea....NO do you have any idea how large a 2OTL or a dual dual muffler is? I don't think i could get one of those under my muffler, let alone 2 of them. I am tempted to find some quieter mufflers to make the car streetable.

Right now, I feel like country boy. There is not a better sounding LS1 in my town, but it's at the expense of me and my interior. It's to the point that it's uncomfortable to drive. Now, my car may be a little to the extreme, but never forget that a well built Y-pipe setup WILL make the same hp as a TD system.

I've had both setups...Hooker/y-pipe...and 3" TD w/Flowtech Afterburners...TD's sounded badass, and IMO pulled harder on top end...it seemed anyway. I might have too go back to them, after I switch my springs out b/c Im lowered about 1.5"
