ok guys..i think im gunna order my long tube headers soon...but what do you all think would be better to get, with emissions or without....are the long tubes going to get rid of the cats or am i going to have to get a new y-pipe with a cat on it? if thats the fact...i will put a cut out on it. i'm sure you all have had these questions before and may be annoying, i appologize, but ive done some research on my headers and wanted to know what to do from personal experience...the car is my daily driver as well...99 trans-am, m6 with a sleak beak

thanks all

Well lets see.

If your car is your daily driver it all depends on if your state has emissions laws, and if so how tuff. Most states have a mileage cutoff that if you are under you do not need to get emissions tested. Here is PA it is 5k a year. Long tubes will most certainly require a Y pipe. Either with or without cats, again there is the emissions thing For more detailed info you may want to either check the Eastern forum and ask any on in VA the laws, and you can also check the external engine forum for tons of info on headers. I hope that helped some.

yes sir it did..yea, i know we have ot have the cats and all..but i think with the emissions, its ok to have them off because alof of guys in my car group have half thei emission stuff taken out of the car, im guessing to make it lighter...so probably no emission...no, i know ill need a cat, atleast for inspection or driving late at night (noise curfew is 11pm) how would that work with l/ts? can i just put a cut out on the y-pipe without the cat so i can creep buy the police easier? haha or does it have to fit on a cat?
