Default Normal or Racing Headers

I bought a completely stock 1999 WS9 a couple months ago and I am slowly adding parts. I am just about to buy a set of Headers from Pacesetter and I dont know whether or not to get the racing ones with no EGR or A.I.R. hookups or the normal set. I am not to sure about the differences between them. What is the easiest,cheapest and best sounding???? I know I want the Quik Trip Long Tube Headers but that is about it, DO I WANT RACING OR NOT??? and what parts do i have to buy other then the headers themselves??

Unless you plan on getting a tune to eliminate the computer codes and don't have to pass any sort of emmissions inspection in your state, then get the street legal headers instead of the "racing" ones. They are fine if you are going all out and building a race car, but for street use, you'd probably be better off sticking with the normal set.

Race style cleans up the engine bay nicely though, Just get the tune.

race style deletes your air and egr. your emissions stuff. if you dont want it and plan on taking it off get race headers...

and youll also need a y pipe if you didnt already know that...you can get ory which has no cats or the catted version from pacesetter

pacsetter doesnt make a catted y pipe but TSP does their one of the sponsers here and have good prices. As far as the headers go I would go with the ones with the emmission settings on them I did the same and have no regrets. People say "it cleans up the engine bay" but the way I look at it is I dont show my car so its not a big deal, and If you have emission testing it is just two more things to worry about when getting it tested.

My biggest concern about getting the emissions style is having a bung break off. This has happened to a number of guys (see the thread below) and at some pretty inconvenient times.

if you have '98~'00 you will need AIR/EGR fittings otherwise you can get race style and get them tuned out if you don't have to deal with strict emissions
