Default 2.5" vs 3" Y-Pipe

I have a QTP y-pipe that is causing some clearance issues. My mechanic is considering replacing the 3" y-pipe with a 2.5". And Replacing my 3.5" in 4" out merge collector with a 2.5"in 3"out.The pipes from my QTP long tubes are 2.5 and my catback is 3". Will I loose any rwhp by doing this?

I doubt it. I'm running Stainless Works 2.5" headers into a 3.5" catback system, putting plenty of power down. 2.5" y-pipe works great for clearance, and I just noticed we have very similiar mods.

Cool, Thanks!!! I think Im going to have him make the merge collector a 3.5 out since my cat is only 3". That should make sure it flows out better

Make sure that you will still have good scavenging though.

have a better 3 inch y made...i made one for someone that you cant even see the pipes hanging when looking from the side of the car.

when skill goes up, so does ground clearance.
