Default PaceSetter Y-Pipe hitting floor

After installing PaceSetter Full lenghts and Y-Pipes on my 98 Ta, I found that the driverside part of the Y-Pipe keeps hitting the floor under medium to hard acceleration. Its really getting annoying, and I have already tried repositioning the pipe twice and I tried denting the pipe where is keeps hitting the front sub frame. The only thing I can think of is the driverside motor mount is bad. Does anyone else have this problem ?? If I put motor mounts in I wanna go with some Energy suspension Mounts, or will these mounts be too stiff and transmit too much vibration to the chassis ? Any advice would be great.

everyone has this prob, some more than others. you can try poly motor\trans mounts but that doesn't always work. I'm gonna try some Thermo-tec heat padding or something.

I squeezed in a piece of radiator hose between the ORY and the floorboard. It's been on there for about 2 years already without any problems. I live in South Texas where we get 100+ F temps and haven't had any problems with the hose burning.

I have pacesetter LT`s and ORY with poly trans/motor mounts. I still have that problem. I have to get under the car once a month and loosen the bolts, pull down on the y-pipe and tighten it back up. Works for a while.

Any y pipe is gonna be like that. Actually the Pacesetter has best clearance from the flat spots. Like mentioned, just wedge a section of heater hose between pipe and car.

To fix it for good put poly mounts on the car and cut that rib out above the pipe where its hitting.

hose does a great job of killing the vibration if u can get it to stay wedged in between the pipe and the body.

If not a hose you can use High Temp Silicone rubber...thats what I have, its usually orange and can withstand temps a whole lot higher then your exhaust gets. Stops rattle and doesnt transmit vibration really.

Use a screw clamp, run it thru the piece of hose and around the pipe, tighten it up. The hose willl not move.
