The new ac delco iridiums are the best plugs, but ngks are the better choice because they are cheaper. I run the ngk tr55s with msd 8.5 wires.

NGK TR55s here on my Z06! They are working great after 20000 miles so far although I should be changing them shortly.

I want to buy new plugs too. I was looking at the NGK 55's that you guys all raved about and found 2 different kinds. Theres the NGK V-Power which are $2.39 each and theres the NGK G-Power that are $2.99 each. The only difference between the two is that the the G-Power have a platinum tip and the V-Power have a Nickel alloy. I'd gladly spend an extra 60 cents a plug to get a better product, if the platinum ones really are better. Any info on these?

I just found these descriptions on another website. It doesnt make my decision any easier since both sound good lol

These G-Power Platinum spark plugs deliver the power and quality you expect from NGK. The fine pure platinum electrode tip remains virtually unchanged and reaches self-cleaning temperatures to deliver longer durability and optimum performance. Compared to conventional plugs, G-Power delivers better starts, superior acceleration and greater fuel economy.

These NGK V-Power spark plugs offer economical performance for nearly any automotive application, and are the only plugs with NGK's V-Groove technology. They enhance ignitability, lower the voltage requirement of ignition systems, and have strong anti-fouling characteristics, while improving fuel mileage and acceleration performance. The V-Power plugs also are highly durable against electrical and chemical wear, making them a long-life replacement plug. Because of the V-Groove, the spark occurs at the edge of the center electrode. So heat is not absorbed by the electrode itself. This allows the flame kernel to expand quickly and efficiently for a complete burn and great performance.

I ran them on my old honda. Can't really say anything bad about them....but they didn't make any noticeable improvements either. Never had them on the LS1. Probably just a waist of money.

Just wanted to remind you when changing plugs to put a little anti-seize on the threads of the plug. I always use it, especially when screwing a steel plug into an aluminum head. Don't forget the die electric grease on the plug boot or terminal too.
