Intake and TB Compatibility??
Intake and TB Compatibility?? I have a bbk ssi intake manifold w/ a stock throttle body and i want to upgrade to a 90mm unit. BBK claims the intake opening is 85mm. Will this setup work anyway or will additional porting be necessary. And how much hp can i expect to gain from a 90mm tb and 85mm SLp Maf on a Heads/Cam/bolt on car?? Thanks for your Time!!

The main reason being the opening is often less important than the plenium chamber inside the manifold. This is why on a correct setup a 78mm FAST will perform very well.
Although interestingly, TPIS do modifiy the LS6 intake to incorporate a 90mm opening and a 90mm TB and have seen good results, still not as good as a FAST 90/90 though.

the people who make the typhoon manifold make a 85mm tb, byunspeed has a satin finish less than $200. I'm going to give it a try with the ssi.
You can always port the bbk manifold for the 90mm tb
