I think it would sound like ****. My advice is buy the TSP Rumbler. There's a current thread about it being $200. That's cheap for a catback. If you're absolutely set on using the stock exhaust at least use a dynomax bullet or something similar.

Each to his own man. Some people will tell you no its redneckish others love the glasspacks (usually on trucks though). If I understand you correctly a glass pack will go in the same place as the muffler the previous guy mentioned ( he's right about his suggestion that the mentioned muffler will sound good). try the glass pack first, you wont be out on funds much and should be a simple switch if you dont like it. Just my .02

I like how the LS1s sound with no muffler. I haven't ever heard any glasspacks that I like. They all remind me of old POS trucks rednecks drive. I've removed the mufflers on my 2 previous LS1s and left the factory tips. Basically setup like the GMMG, but with just pipe instead of the chambered mufflers.

Ive had a glasspack installed on my old 93 Z just to try it out... it sounded like a deeper but amplified stock muffler. I did have a power loss though because i ran the 2 1/2 size.....i should have went bigger.

Hmm, well I ran glasspacks on the firebird and it sounded pretty damn good-at least with the true duals, can't say for sure on the stock exhaust. Everyone loved the way it sounded and I got lots of compliments. THe glasspacks are one of the most freeflowing mufflers you can get, if your talking about the straight through design like cherry bombs. Also these are the same muffler as a bullit muffler, but it sounds better in my opinion since it has more packing than the bullits. I'd try it out and see how you like it, they are pretty cheap.
