Pacesetter mids look like shorties. But mids are illegal too. So you might as well get LT's

mids have the carb number with them.. how are they illegal?

plus i dont want to have to switch everything every 2 years to get smogged, and have the risk of a fix it ticket if i get pulled over.

I live in CA and this morning I just finished putting my stock exhaust back on because I need a smog test this month to register. The swap sucks but the power gain is worth it.I just took off my mac mids and went for a drive and it feels like my car has been nudered.

They are illegal because they move the cats.....and moving the cats from the factory location is illegal

so how come they say 50 state legal and you dont have to move your cat for mid length. it says the Y pipe just welds right up to the cat.

i have the 1 cat on the I pipe, maybe you thought i have 2 like the LS1's.

GEtting a hook up would be getting something that was going to help. Not replace with what you have. That would be like getting your manifolds coated.

They will make a difference, but it won't be anything near a longtube. But I do see that you are in an emissions state, so it would be better than nothing.

ok @nthony....

yes the pacesetter "mids" are really pacesetter shorties (had a pair)... did notice a slight difference in power/tone but not good enough for me and now have LT's (plus my cam wouldn't like me with them either)

if that's as far as you think you will go with headers then get them... otherwise if you think down the road you will go LT's, don't bother

oh and to answer firmly your confusion... they are 100% legal as they almost "mimic" the stockers... hint, hint
