Default Air lids?

What would be the best air lid to go with? MTI, Whisper, SLP, also is there a difference between a mti clear lid and a non clear mti?

Thanks
Evan

I'd say SLP is the best to go with. MTI is pretty good too. The Whisper lid can have fitment issues.

The only difference between the clear lid and non-clear lid is you can't see through one. They both flow the same.

You should check out the MTI website theres a comparison that GM High performance magazine did and The MTI made the best dyno numbers and best quarter mile times! I have the MTI clear lid and have no fitment issuses what so ever. Good luck!

Take it easy when installing the MTI clear lid. It was a PITA to get the tabs in be careful not to break them.

I just switched up to the MTI Carbon Fiber Lid, I so far love it, just got rid of the Whisper, they say the MTI flows better, I just liked the look.

Alright im sorry to hijack a thread but im confused about something pertaining to SLP's Lid. On ebay I found a very reputable seller and he offers a "SLP Blackwing High Flow Air Filter" with the lid it adds some cost to it but I just used the search function for an hour and kept coming up with this Blackwing filter apparently only for Corvettes that was shaped like a cone. I assume this blackwing filter in the auction is like a normal filter and fits my T/A. Also, what the hell is up with "blackwing"? Is it SLP just with a different name?

By the way heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-02...QQcmdZViewItem

I have heard of some lids rubbing the hood, mine doesnt though. I have the SLP lid and have no complaints.

MTI lids fit fine, the seal between filter and the lid is the problem. YOu can fix it by putting all weather seal.

All lids are the same... basically. IT just comes down to BRand Name, and styles... Clear Plain Black Etc... Go w/ the one you think looks the bst. That's the only way to settle it.

My lid rubs on my hood a little bit. I have a fiberglass hood, so I just took a file to the underside of the hood, and that fixed it.

Can post pics if you REALLY want...

GMHTP did a thing on it a WHILE ago..

Alright once again sorry for hijacking but those of you with SLP did you also buy the extra filter SLP offers, because some of you say you have the SLP lid but also have K & N filter but SLP only sells the blackwing filter as far as I can tell?
