I think MAC mids are the most underrated header ever.

I got some but im boosted STS. I like them, Mids are the **** shorter runner flowsmore the manifolds less chance to lose heat in the tube it self and clearance is no issue 3inch drop car as far as power who really knows everycar is differnt. Long tubes are good to,Plus when u upgrade cam and heads or fi you already have long tubes.

I made 410rwhp/415rwtq through Mac mids with a 222/224 cam and 5.3L heads. They kick ***. I'd still have 'em if they passed Cali smog.

Look in the exhaust FAQ, there is a dyno comparison and they are within 5-10rwhp of LT's, across the board - and they have better ground clearance and fit.

I used to work at a shop called TurboConnection while going to college and am very good friends with the owner (get calls all the time hearing updates on tests/cars). From what I've personally seen on the dyno is that on the average, longtube headers don't make too much more horsepower than a good set of midlength headers (MAC, BBK, Whisper) but they usually do make considerably more torque. They're are many cars going single digit 1/4 times with midlengths.

For guys who daily drive their cars with longtubes that aren't stainless (regardless if they're coated or not) and drive in the rain, I've seen alot of headers like yours have the collectors start rusting in a couple years. Every scratch or hard rock hit makes a easy spot for them to start rusting. Midlength collectors are tucked up higher and don't get that kind of abuse.

Just depends on what's more important to you.

Some one once told me: "think of it this way, would you rather have a long ***** or a mid length one?"

I'll agree with this 100%. I'm willing to give up some of that torque to have better fitment though.

I will say that from what i've seen though, coated headers are useless. My painted MAC headers have less rust than most coated headers i've seen.
