Talking !QTPs are in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just want to say THANKS to my buddy Paul for all his help! All in all it took only 5 hours at his garage with all the right tools. We started first by removing the !AIR, plugs and wires and dip stick. Next was the manifold bolts on the heads.. That was hard to get at. Next to no room. After all the **** was off, on went the LTs.

Passanger side header first. Jacked the car up really high. Went in, in about 1 min.. NO JOKE! Next was the drivers side header the most dreaded on by everyone.. To be honest it was not that bad. First took the oil filter off, took the stering link off. We attempted to go in just like that. it was caught on the K member, bottom floor pan, and bell housing (only a bit). Just to help we loosened the motor mount. So as everyone did grind the K member. Paul took a saw zal cut off a little piece and went from there. Attempt 2 it was still stuck on k member, floor pan even with a pry bar prying the motor. So then the next idea was to beat the floor pan in not too much. Took the pry bar, and voila it was in!! took only about 1 hour.

So you are prolly wondering why it took 5 hours, that is b/c we kept talking and drinking while doing the install.

Drained the oil, put the stering link back on, hooked up the MSD wires, put in the NGK TR55's gapped at .060" Put the dip stack back on and refilled the oil. i switched from M1 5W30 and tonight put in 6 qts of German Castrol Full Synthetic 0W30. Now it was start up time, keep in mind i am running OPEN Headers! B4 the install i had my TDs on stock manifolds and i now have fab some piping back up. But anyways start up time.. WOW it was hella loud

So right now my T/A is at Pauls house, he has to drive 10 miles to his shop, OPEN HEADERS so he can weld some flanges and some new piping. Man i can not wait to hear this.

I did take some pics, i will try to get some vids.

Let me know if you have any questions

That's weird because my qtp's basically slid right in. I didn't have to take anything off or cut anything or smash anything. Mind you, I had the car about 3.5 feet in the air in the front. But still, buying headers that cost this much I was glad they slid right in on my car.

How did you get the car 3.5 feet in the air? I'm very curious.

Ya, it was interesting. I think it took me just as long to jack my car up and down in that project as it did to actually do the headers.

I used a bunch of big patio blocks and some big jack stands to finally reach the point where I could stand the driverside header straight up between the floor and the car. I needed a small stool to get high enough to get into the engine bay during that.

I wouldn't suggest jacking that high if you have everything stable. However, the headers slid right in after with no messing around.

yea me too, glad it is coming together. i dont hate loud cars at all.. Hey Jordan i do have a question though. at certain rpms there is some vibration under my feet.. i know that one of the primaries is about 1/8" away from the K member, that hits i alittle bit. and i think that it might be hitting somewhere else.. But anyideas on how to stop the vibrations and the hitting??

No retune needed on anyones TB. Ive seen were you port the MAF and it would lean it out a whole point(which is part of the reason a retune is needed on a properly ported MAF).
