Default water-methane injection...

A friend was telling me about a kit that Summit racing sells. Is anyone familiar with this type of kit? What's the scoop?

go over in the N2O or F/I section and you will find alot, it is mostly used in HIGH HP N20 and F/I application, if my memory severs me right it helps keep the temperatures down kinda like a Intercooler cools air for a turbo

methanol injection is used for bringing intake temps down and increasing octane - it allows forced induction guys to run higher boost levels without experiencing detonation

Lol Methane..... It is the Snow Performance one that he is refering you to. You can run it N/A as well, but it really shines with high horsepower boost. Cools the intake as well as helps for detonation. All you need to fill the reservoir with is 50/50 windshield wiper fluid. You can get a whole bunch of it at walmart for pennies.

Yes it lowers IAT's no real use on a n/a stockish motor as detonation isn't really an issue. To see any gain you would need to tune for it anyhow.

Nothing new here, the Rolls Royce 27 litre V12 Merlins as found in the Spitfire and Hurricane fighers of WWII used water injection for the same purpose.
