Default 4' exhaust

i have a 1999 camaro with an f14 cam, fast 90mm, nw90mm, fipk, ewp, pulley, tune, ported stock heads(not for long), QTP race headers, no cats. ill occastionally spray 125shot. all this with stock cubic inches i also plan on going to a set of dart heads and uping the compression to 11.1.

my question is i was planning on going with a 4" setup from the headers back but recently was told i would lose power going with that big of an exhaust.
what do you guys think? what would be a well sized system for this car?

the only other upgrade i could see myself doing to this car would possible be going to a 383 or 402.

no i mean a 4" single going into a 4" inlet spintech muffler with dual 3" outlets.

i dont want to do it if im gonna lose power (obviosly), which is what i was told recently even though im not sure how knowledgable the person might actually be about exhaust systems.

if it makes a difference; dont take into consideration the 125 shot cuz i dont plan on using it very often (maybe three 15lb bottles a year).

I run the 4" without any problems. Made more power over the other cat backs I tried. These motors don't seem to care if there is back pressure or not. The Mufflex 4" with flowmaster single in and out makes the best sound I've ever heard. I've put 6 different exhaust systems on this car, and have come back to this one 3 times. I ran this system with both my stock motor and now that I am 11.5:1 compression. Good Luck with your decision.

3" off the collectors into a flowmaster merge with a 4" single outlet to the 4" inlet to the muffler, out to 3" duals

Not of the under side of the car. Only the outside. You can't see the exhaust, because it has the hide away tip. Do a search, because someone posted up pics not too long ago. Just type in 4" mufflex, in the search window for this section.

IMO it would work great! But like said ground clearance would be an issue.

Theres a guy that I saw in WI that was autoxing at road america and he had a single 4" system. It sounded AWSOME!! Didnt talk to him tho so I dunno bout power.

Also spintech makes great mufflers, I had one on my S10 and it sounded GREAT!

My car is lowered with G2 Super Springs, which drops me about 1 "1/2. I don't touch anything except when going over speed bumbs. And I always go over them at a snails pace, so it doesn't matter if they just rub them. They're fine after 4 years. I also have room to tuck them a little better than they are now.
