Starter???

I just got my car back from the body shop and Now my car is having a hell of a time tryign to start. When i go to turn the car over it makes a grinding noise and and keeps grinding. It does this a few times and then it finally catches and the car turns over. Do you guys think it is my starter missing teeth or the flexplate that has teeth missing?

Flexplate should not be missing teeth....you would probably have other problems if it were. I replaced my starter at 39k cause it was doing the same thing. It has a CVR now. Never had a problem since.

take the starter out and check thers only two big bolts and 2 small bolts to remove..

Half the time that is all you have to do. Take it out, look at it, and put it back in and problem goes away. I have seen weird stuff like that happen. Makes you wonder if the battery died at the body shop and they sat there and cranked on the starter or something.
