Exhaust system ??
Thanks
The easy ones are Ferrari V8's are all DOHC units with 5 valves per cylinder and they rev to 8500rpm.
However more significantly they use a falt plane V8 engines. On a traditional V8 like ALL american ones and most others they have an uneven firing order, this means at some point you get 2 cylinders on the same side/bank of the engine fire one after the other. This is what gives typically V8's there lovly worble/burble.
A flat plane V8 has an even firing order where it fires on opposit banks all the time. This is used for better exhaust tuning although the engine isn't balanced as well. This is what Ferrari V8's use. Lotus and TVR also had flat plane V8's.
Think of it this way, a traditional V8 like the LS1 is essentially two V4 engines joined together nose to tail. Where as a Ferrari V8 is more akin to two Straight 4 engines with a common crankshaft.
There for it is impossible to replicate this sound from a traditional V8.
