Question Bullets sandwiched between y and Lts

Search did not really help. I wanted to know if any one knew for sure about noise level (rasp) and hp loss. I have Lt slp headers/ y-pipe to a loudmonth dual/dual system. The thing is, I do not have a muffler at all. I placed a straight pipe from the y-pipe to the pipe that goes over the axle.
I wanted to know, if I sandwiched bullets between the Lts and y-pipe, would it kill hp and the rasp. The cool thing about the set up would be that the bullets would look like cats and I could put on the LM1 for a muffer look alike. (to fake out inspectors)
I want to install a muffer that can kill the rasp on my G5-X2-112 347cid. I hate the rasp at the dreaded 2200rpm line . I really do not feel like experimenting with bullet style mufflers.
It looks like my only choice is the LM2, bolra xr-1, or the maganaflow bullit. I do not what to go to duals due to the fact of cost and there is not shop in my area that would do it right. I just really hate the rasp(dronning), I been dodging the pigs of lately, but I know my luck will run out some time.
By the way I have heard the sound clips. They are all with parked cars and anything moving is hard to pick up. Thanks for input postive or smart a$$ remarks.hehehe

I would think that a cat would offer this same type of effect. Sound clips wont tell you anything honestly. You can get the inconsistency note of a certain cam...sometimes.

Hey...your from Austin! Whats up? Join our local forum too (afbforums.com)

I'm wondering this also Anyone know of a some small bullets that sound good instead of cats? I'll use my cut out and buy another so I'll have TD's with a flip of a switch! How would those work with the rest of the system with it closed? Cuz I plan to keep the hooker too. Will it sound real weird?

ive been debating about this somewhat myself. if its worth getting an ory pipe, bullets and dump it, deleting the catback (saves a good 50lbs) or just getting a catted ypipe and then dumping it with a turn down there. it will have all the advantages of a true dual system- vertually no backpressure with the convience of the y setup when you go to mod the suspension.

Hey Hotwhip T/A I do belong to afbforums, but not post much there. Not enough tech there. I can not get to the meets due to the fact that I work night shift.
Hennytime I would like to put straight pipe with a kick out 45 degree with some boom tubes (spintech nascar style) but with the T/A has the back bumper cover with the slots in them. I know, lets spend more money on a formula cover with a west wings extension, and lets not forget If I do not like it I can always sell it for 50% on here.lol
I like to get an x dual system to the back in a kit, but I search and can not find one. Forget about the shops here it would come out wrong or cost way to much. I just I have to choose between an xr-1 or get two cheap bullits off ebay and do some expirmenting.

Talking Exhaust update

I found a exhaust shop on the east of Austin. These were some hard piping hitting vatos. I stood under the car and help out the dude who welded it up.
I put the bullets behind the headers and then y-pipe to the loud mouth w/o muffler/resinator. The rasp and drown are 98% gone. It still has that loud sound but its not really deep. There is still some cracking and poping at down shifting It only ran 150.00 and the had some adjustments on the rest of the system.
I know what you guys are thinking, but I could stand the rasp or drown at 2100 anymore. The pigs were staring pretty hard passing the gas station, happy for back roads and bumper to bumper traffic.
Forgot to metion that the bullets look like cats, which I need here in hippie land.

You think you could make a sound clip of that. I was considering doing this when my cats crap out.
