NGK TR-55s gapped at .055", this ok?

Default NGK TR-55s gapped at .055", this ok?

hey, im changing plugs, and i got some TR-55s and was planning on gapping them at .050" but they came pregapped at .055"......

is this ok to run in my car? bone stock 98 z28........

Yeah, I personally would rather run them at .055 than .050 with a stock car.

Well as hp increases you generally go with a colder heat range. But you would stay with the TR55 until 100+ rwhp over stock IMHO.

What kind of modded are we talking about here?

Thought NGK's (3951) came gapped stock @ about .060. Anyways, .055 works for me.

Always check to make sure they're gapped right. Almost all plugs claim to be pre-gapped, but most aren't right.

i thought the stock gaps were 0.60?? thats what it says on a sticker in my engine bay>?

Whats wrong with that?

Mine were pre gapped ranging from .45 - .65, so I put them at .50.

FWIW, my stockers where all about .65 except one that was at .50.

they make a tool that kinda looks like pliers, you set the gap and put the plug on them and squeeze the handle, insta gap!

I gapped all of mine at .055". I just put a feeler gauge in between the sparky things and pressed the top sparky dude down until it touched the feeler gauge. My TR-55's all were pretty close to .055" out of the box.

Werd. Seen those things but weren't sure how well they worked. Guess I'll have to pick one up at some point.
