backfiring problem

backfiring problem my car backfires sometimes at low rpm when i shift into 2nd mainly when it is cold the only thing i have after market flow wise is corsa catback exhaust?? usually when i am leaving for work in the morning coming out of my neighborhood ill bring it up to 2500 rpm and then shift to 2nd and it pops reall loud

I have an A4 and corsa, when restarting it when cold - like running down to the corner store - it'll do the same thing once in a while. Wouldn't call it a backfire, more like a little popping.
Not to worry, mine did it all the time and still does it to this day. I have borla catback with the wide open plate and a SLP Lid, bellows, MAF and K&N filter. I actually posted up the same question a while back and was a little worried on why it does it. It actually backfired through out the whole RPM gauge whether I was at 2000rpm or 5000rpm. However, everyone told me its normal. It does it when its the first start of the day or when the engine is cold. To cure the problem, well just let the engine warm up first before you take off and it should help out a little bit. Its just a pop thats all. Hope this helps.

Dude, my car does the same thing, cold starts in the morning, shift from 1st to 2nd, and people duck for cover thinking I'm doing a drive by shooting. It ususally stops after the next couple of shift. I think it sounds pretty cool.

I have a GMMG exhaust on my car which if I remember correctly doesn't even have mufflers, and it backfires and pops like a bitch in the morning. It goes away after a minute or two of driving though, although it will still do it in first or second once in a while if i goose it on and off.
