have a SS with the SLP lid and its rubbing how can i stop it? anyone else had that problem?

 

My SLP lid rubs 2. I havent ever heard anybody else say. By the way my buddys 2001 SS does two.

Guys keep in mind that our air-boxes sit higher than those on Z.28s, Formulas and regular T/As. So,..we're gonna probably rub a bit. Every lid but the stocker should have this as an issue but its not really an issue cuz it ain't gonna hurt you.

I got the SLP-Blackwing and have no rub problems.

 

Mine rubs too. Its pretty annoying.

 

i know someone who scrapped their SLP and bought the k&n fipk just for that reason. IDK but i think i could deal with a little rubbing if it saved me $250

 

My SLP lid doesnt rub at all.

 

I have the SLP Blackwing on my SS and it doesn't rob. Very nice plastic injected piece too. More expensive than the regular SLP but it worth it. It looks like stock with AC GM sticker on it.

A friend of mine has the regular SLP lid on his WS6 and it rob.

SLP rubbing issues here aswell

 

My SLP lid did not rub until I did my cam. Now it rubs bad. I checked to see if the radiator was in different, but it was not. Oh well.

 

My slp has rubbed from the day I got it. I realized it didn't hurt anything so it doesn't really bother me too much, I just deal with it.

 

My lid rubbed only after I put a smooth bellow in. I think that it pushes it up a lil' too much. Causing the contact with the hood. Pissed me off.
