Yes you could, but it's not ideal and will require a lot of fab work.

The Donaldson synthetic weave filter is one of the very best filters on the market. You would need to check the dimensions but it may be possible to mount it in a similar way to the k&n FPIK (or whatever it's called.)

Volant also make a system that mounts similar. But the Donaldson filter it the key and is far superior to those used by k&n or Volant.

The Amsoil EaA 83 is a stock sized panel filter (drop in) that I believe is the same material/construction as the Donaldson Blackwing deal. I could be wrong, but, they (Amsoil) do pay a fee to Donaldson for this. Does the Vette Blackwing filter use oil (a la K&N, Powershot, etc.) or is it dry, like the Amsoil??

You are correct. From my experience the 2 filter media are either the same or VERY close. AMSOIL and Donaldson worked very closely together on the developement of this new filtration media.

EaA83 = https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx?zo=1436102

No it doesn't require any oil. And it filters almost as well as paper, which is still the best substance for filtering. Cotton weave like k&n is pretty crap at filtering and also clogs very quickly.

Synthetic weave filters are used in aviation and heavy plant machinery.

The AMSOIL EaA83 is a synthetic weave filtration media. This filter does have a better filtration efficiency and capacity than a paper (cellulose) media.

Again, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Amsoil claims 100-150K miles?
Yes, it is cleaned with a shop vac, or low pressure compressed air line.

No more than a k&n, yet it filters and flows better, cost nothing to run (clean) unlike the k&n.

Cleaning
EaA filters should be cleaned every year or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. Carefully remove the filter from the housing. Clean the housing with a shop towel, being careful not to knock contaminants into the air inlet. Filters can be cleaned by carefully vacuuming the filter media on the dirty side, or by holding the filter with one hand and carefully blowing the filter media at a 45 degree angle on the clean side using low-pressure shop air (15-20 lbs. psi).

Service Life
AMSOIL Ea Air Filters are guaranteed for four years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. The guarantee applies only if the filter has been serviced according to AMSOIL recommendations. In off-road, frequently dusty or other severe duty applications, clean and change more often as determined by operating conditions or as indicated by restriction gauge.

AMSOIL Warranty
AMSOIL warrants that its filtration products are fit for use according to AMSOIL’s recommendations and warrants its products to be free of defective materials, design and workmanship.

Hope this helps.
