Throwing SES from gutting cats? Hey guys, banged out the cats on my z28 stock exhaust for a little bit before I get some longtubes, car feels like it gained a little bit of power, but about a day after I did it it started throwing a SES, are there any downsides to running catless for a sustained period of time or? Also, another question, if I get longtubes, am I going to have to get a different type of O2 sensor or will the stock ones be fine? Someone told me about a 'heated O2 sensor' that I would need if I where to get longtubes.

). You can fix it tuning or just run a pair of o2 simms that you can get from many of the sites sponsors. You won't hurt anything running without cats but that light will be on until you do something about it. If you get longtubes the stock o2s are fine but you'll have to get some o2 extensions for them to reach to the header collector. Some people run the vette o2s that heat up faster than the fbody ones, apparently this prolongs the life of the o2 but they also cost more.
