Will this gauge work with an ls1?
http://autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail...id=2879&sid=15

Do i need to get anything else or will the gauge include everything i need? I am worried that i might need some type of sending unit.

yea that gauge will work for a LS1, or any other car, those gauges are universal. Id call autometer, it SHOULD come with the sending unit, but sometimes they wont, and it doesnt say.

They don't in most cases. I believe that the electric ones are the way to go if you can fork up the extra $$$$.

I accidentally put a link for an oil pressure one, in reality i want an oil temperature one. I called autometer and It does include what i needd?

Should i get a gauge that reads 100- 250 or 140-300 degrees for oil temperature?

That link is for a mechanical gauge, which means you have to run an oil line in thru the firewall and attach to this gauge. There is no sending unit as this is not an electrical gauge.

NHRA, if my memory serves me correctly, doesn't allow mechanical gauge tubing through the firewall.

lol old post If the poster still needs one of these, I'm 99% positive I have this exact guage (well, oil temp, but 2 1/16" sport comp) sitting out in my garage unused, and it is the electrical version with a sender, so no extra oil lines
