Hey maybe he is located in Los Angeles.. you can see that air..

clear lids are just for show (and performance because its still a lid) but its just so you can see the filter.. or sometimes the throttle blade.. its no different than having a black lid, performance wise.. they just look cool

I'm sure you could throw a couple small rocks in there and watch them fly around.

I guess the only real advantage of having a clear one over a regular one is the ability to see your air filter (to know if it is time to change/clean) without having to use so much energy to open the lid.

It's just for looks mang.
I picked up a clear lid hoping to put a decent piece of vinyl on it, but the lid is now cracked.

Not a bad idea, except the dirt on my filter doesn't show through.
I clean it every oil change though.

The only advantage of a clear lid is it is easier to see if the filter is sealed correctly to the lid or if moisture is making it's way past the filter.

A clear lid is more for looks than anything else.

If the top part of the filter is that dirty to where you can tell, you probably should have changed it/cleaned it 10-20,000 miles ago.

i only got a clear lid just because it makes the engine area look a little better. just remember the saying...a lid's a lid they are all pretty much the same.

clear lid is only for looks, dirty part of the filter is on the other side anyways

if you are going to spend 50 bucks on a K&N filter that dosent do anthing but keep you from buying frequent paper filters and look cool, you might as well get a clear lid to show off your frivolous purchase
