Default poly mount install ?

Question for those who have done poly mounts on your cars. In hindsight, yes I should've done them when I was putting headers in, but oh well. In any case, if you've done 'em afterwards, have you taken the headers off? Those of you who haven't, was it too bad? I'd prefer to NOT take them off regardless of how easy it is, just getting the car up that high again is more of a pain in the *** than anything... but if I must, I must. Any input? Thanks.

The search engine is working, for a change.

I regretted not doing it when I did the headers. Without the poly mounts, my pipes were banging the floor every time I got on it.

I finally installed the prothane mounts when I did the HC combo. It was still a minor PITA. I can't imagine doing it with the headers on, I expect it would be a huge PITA.

Ah yea I didn't search prothane, just poly, didn't get much of anything. Thanks for the input.

I disagree I think its ridiculously hard with the headers on! I would at least unbolt them from the heads, I would have taken mine completely off but the Y-Pipe was being a bitch and wouldnt come off.

Theres a link to my thread in the sticky.

We did them when we installed an LS2 402 in a friend's car. They were a total pain in the ***! even with the Engine freshly going in & nothing in the way. They did not want to line up after the first side was done.

I did them with the the headers on and it really is not bad at all as long as you have a few socket attachments and swivel attachments.

I did one side with the headers in, and one side with that header out. Although I'll (hopefully) never do this again, I'd take the header out in a heart beat if I had to do it again. The extra time it took to drop it was more than made up in the ease of installation.
