Need technical help Hey guys, I need some info on our beloved Gen III engine family.
About 5 months ago, I installed Hooker headers (part#2082-1HKR)
on my customer's '01 K-truck with the LQ4 engine.
I Used the supplied header gasket by Hooker along with Stage 8 locking header bolts. Everything was torqued to specs. and did not have any issues until now!
Well that customer came back this week saying that he has an exhaust leak
under the hood.
Upon further investigation, I found that one of the c-clips is missing on the last bolt of bank #2. Needless to say that, the bolt in question is loose.
I will be replacing that locking bolt, but I will also remove the header to see if it's warped.
What I would like to know, where can I get a better quality header gasket that fits the Hooker header design?

header gasket I checked at Napa.
Under exhaust manifold.......
They have stock replacement gasket set part# NGMAMS16124
And they also have Hi-Performace gasket set part# BK 7355733
And I didn't see anything about Victor-reinz?
Which gasket set we talking about?????

gasket Ok, so I ordered the stock OEM gasket from GM and the Victor-Reinz gasket from Napa.
I should receive both tommorow and will be able to compare.
I always thought that the metal gaskets would not work with aftermarket headers! then again...what do I know?
Hopefully I can correct this leaking header.
