Borla exhaust
Persoanlly my best friend had an open plate adjustable borla on his Cammed z28 and I didnt like it...Id say if your willing to spring for a borla you should go with a B&B triflo or a corsa as I think they sound better. Another option is magnaflow. Borla flows great and is a very nice system, I just prefer the others listed above. Go to ls1sounds.com though to hear clips if you need help deciding.
yea, i got the adjustable but ******* UPS is wanting to take their sweet *** time as always. it was SUPPOSED to be here frieay and it still aint here along with a few other things.
But some people dont like the borla because as with any free-flow exhaust it canb ecome raspy, but they have adjustable plates to change to how loud you want it to be.

Yea I dunno what it was with his exhaust. I liked it when he had headers, catted y-pipe, and the borla with the plate open, but when he went gutted his cats and tossed in a tr 228 I wasnt crazy about it. What I really like from borla are their xr-1's in a true dual system, they sound like his borla did before gutting his cats and installing the tr 228. A very mild sound at idle and low rpms but screams up top. Its all personal preference though as some people hated my magnaflow when it was on my cammed z-28, heres a link:

Im one of the Borla hardcore guys. I love the sound and the fact you can put an electric cutout back there to shoosh it up when you dont wanna make so much noise.
Although Ill be the first to admit that it can drone on the freeway in an automatic. On my SS I fixed this by ditching the dual intercooled tips and hooking up some stock Z28 rectangle tips. The SS is black so they kinda blend in and keep a low profile, which I like. And at WOT it still gets way loud.

Anyways, about the rasp.... Anytime you gut the cats with Any exhaust, you are going to have "crazy" rasp, its just the way our engines are, and then when you add a cam ontop of that, look out!!!
Either way though, Get Borla, run it with the plate wide open like I do and then if its still too loud for you, get a cut out!
well ups and fed ex have decided they wanna drag their asses so no stuff for me today. but if it comes in before you buy it, I'll snap some pcis of the system to show off that outstanding quality
Haha im not trying to say Borla sucks or anything, I just dont really like it on a cammed/lt/ory setup, thats all. I know the system is top notch and looks awesome. Also I dont think it was raspy at all, I just didnt like the tone of the exhaust, but thats just my personal preference as he loves the sound. However, I love the borla xr-1's in a true dual setup and when I get my next lsx powered car I will def be running those.
i love the borla on my car. Sounds awesome. Mac Headers (good for the money), no cats, and a borla with no plate. RASP a little around 2000 RPM, but still get more compliments on the sound of it to make it worth it.
sound is one thing. power is another. i had the borla 3" adjustable on the wife's car. just like some have said, once you add headers and remove the cats, the noise gets really bad inside the car. and really loud outside. couldn't handle it anymore, so i got the bassani tru-duals from www.vincihiperformance.com . did a dyno test to see if there were any gains/losses. got rewarded with this. this was on stock tune as well.

Right but then technically you should lose power correct? I wish someone would do a test to see how much is loss with the plates not fully open.
