Mounting tips on true duals

Mounting tips on true duals I finally got my true duals installed today 
and its starts out going 3 inch, until it gets to the mufflers which are 2.5 inch and goes over the axel. Now I have 3 inch Corsa premium tips which im dying to put on there but the guy said I shouldnt b/c it kills flow if you go from 3 to 2.5 to 3 again. Is this true? How much can it hurt flow/sound if I just slap on the tips?

excellent, thats what I figured. Im kind of confused why he would say that, cause other then the tip issue he did a beautiful job with the set-up and it sounds great. Thanks guys.
