Default Battery Draining...what is causing this?

My battery is being drained after about 2 days of sitting. I bought a new battery (Optima red top) and the problem remained. I unhooked all of my aftermarket electronics except for my SLP fan switch, I have had that on forever and it never caused a problem.

This problem has gotten worse slowly over the summer. I don't think it is my alternator because it happens after I turn the car off.

What can I do to try to trace this problem down? I am clueless...

Thanks

You need to get a multimeter and set it to Amps. Hook it up inline with the battery. The meter shouldn't read more than about 20 mA. If it's a lot more, start pulling fuses while monitoring the meter. When the amps drop down, it means something on that circuit is draining the battery. Find out everything that the fuse controls. Unplug each individual thing that is on that circuit until you find the problem. It could be anything. Shorted wiring, a bulb, a switch, ect.

I hope I didn't make this sound too confusing.

i was having the same problem in the past. the problem was when i shut the car off the electric fans would stay on and i wouldnt notice and would walk away and they would keap running till they drain the battery. it was a simple fix just the fan relay under the hood in the relay box.
