hooking up oil temp gauge
the af and fuel press im going to use, but i have a m6 car so i dont really need a tranny temp
i was thinking about getting a oil temp gauge, but i really DONT want to drill or tap my oil pan, so, on the ls1 is there any other way to hook up a sending unit for oil temp?
otherwise, whats the easiest way to hook up a tranny temp gauge to a t56? (lol)
Take that off, drill and tap it, that's what I did.
This is the piece I'm talking about. I'm pointing to the sending unit.
Easy as cake ... unless you tap it slightly crooked and it throws oil on TTPs Dynojet.
Then you feel like kicking yourself in the nuts after cleaning oil off of everything under the car and retapping the sending unit.
so any of the guys who have done this
I did it last night, wnet for a drive, and oils burning.. ok so its just excess from where i changed the oil..
not. this morning i crank it up and let it idle outside for 5 minutes.. i have a nice puddle of fresh 10w30 on my driveway. I can see the top where i tapped it through my headers, and i know thats NOT leaking.
Did you guys re-use the factory rubberish gasket? I didnt put any sealer on it, maybe i should have?
its either that or my oil filter gasket leaking from where i re-used the filter
