Default which exhaust is louder?

which exhaust is louder, both are with cats. LT's/TSP Y-pipe/ cutout or LT's/ H-pipe/TD system with single chamber flowmasters dumped at axle. What you guys think?? need comparisons...im thinkin of doing the TD's and get rid of my y-pipe setup and cutout. TIA

Doesn't matter if it's muffled or not, exhaust dumped under the car will create interior resonance. I have the exact same resonance at the same rpms with my duals/1 chambers that I had with ory/cutout. Only way to get rid of that is to run the exhaust out the back of the car.

I can't believe you haven't done the duals yet! You've been deciding for months!

i think you'd be better off stuffing a potato in your exhaust then buying a flowmaster though

ignorance is bliss around here. because the Flowmaster 80 series sucks, people think that ALL Flowmaster products suck.

i love it.

show me how restrictive that little one chamber Flowmaster is, please..?

i'd be more then happy for you to prove me wrong, love to learn new things. However, i've never heard anyone say anything good about a flowmaster on an f bod

well smart guy, if i had a true dual exhaust setup... i'd be all over one-chamber Flowmasters. it's single in, single out - not made for a Y-Pipe setup.

this is NOT the same muffler that is known for being restrictive on an F-Body. Jesus Crispy Christ people.

the Flowmaster 80 series, cross-over design muffler/catback, is made for the typical Y-Pipe setup and yes, I've heard it sucks very much so for flow. this is NOT what is being discussed in the original topic.

just because the internal structure of this muffler is fucked for flow does not mean that all Flowmasters are. especially the tiny one-chambers. sorry for the rant but i hate when people assume ****.

Wrong....the 1 chambers do not restrict flow. Your thinking about the 80 series.

I am in the same dilema as the original poster. I think im going to go LT's,ORY and cutout. I'll see how much i like it or hate it and then i might get a catless h-pipe

Ok, I have had BOTH of these setups and quite recently as well. IMHO the true-dual single chamber setup is JUST as loud, if not louder. In my case it is anyway. The actual quality of the sounds emitted from the two are not even remotely comparable. The single chambers are above and beyond amazing. The cutout sounded like dump city at most any rpm/throttle postion besides idle or WOT. Don't even let this be a dilemma, go with the 1-chambers
